Our Mission: To provide the best possible football development to young talented players in the Melbourne community

Values
This program has a specific set of Terms & Conditions and Code of Conduct, on top of the existing MCFC ones. We seek to work closely with the parents and put a lot of effort in maintaining a warm family atmosphere to support the players’ efforts and for everyone to enjoy.
- Program-centred Approach: all decisions are made with the aim to benefit or improve player development; everything we do is to provide the best possible program for our children. Every effort and every cent goes directly into the players.
- Honesty and transparency: we are straightforward and direct, we do not sugar-coat anything. We speak up and speak our minds openly, always with respect and friendliness.
- Integrity: we take responsibility, seek to always do the right thing and to be positive role-models, with a strong ethical approach to the activity. We go above and beyond to serve our Mission and our members, never settling and always trying to improve.

Philosophy & Methodology
We have a strong, unique identity and philosophy which are reflected in how we work and how we play.
We take pride in implementing the most up-to-date best-practice coaching methods in our youth football environment, always with a solid and proven scientific foundation. Our coaches are constantly being instructed in new high-level active learning techniques and methods which have been applied successfully in Belgian, Dutch, Portuguese and Spanish clubs. Our capacity to access Europe’s “best-kept secrets” lies in our international connections which have helped design and run the program for many years.

The main aspects of our Philosophy and Methodology are:
- Holistic Mentality: we look at the whole person, not just the player. We want to help kids become great people who are great at playing football.
- Individual Approach: we have a plan for each player’s development path, focusing on the individual always within the Team setting and the Game environment.
- Constant Challenge: our coaching is planned in a way in which players are always facing new challenges and demands, keeping them on their toes and working hard at every step of the way. Mental strength is an important component of our program.
- The Learning Environment: players find a welcoming yet challenging atmosphere, in which discipline meets enjoyment and the desire to learn brings a competitive mentality through growth mindset and a need to acquire life values.
- Style of Play: we have a highly recognisable Style of Play, chosen and designed with the only purpose to best-suit player learning and improvement.
- High-Stakes Atmosphere: year after year, our players feel the growing importance of the activity and we demand more from them as they grow: This way we guide them to be more autonomous and responsible, leading to developing a real ownership of their game in them.
Is The Blue Program The Right Fit For Your Child?
Being offered a position in the Blue Program is based on an EOI and a thorough trial and assessment process. We want to ensure this program is the right fit for the child. Not all EOI will be offered a trial and we may suggest one of the other Junior Development programs as a better fit. Our coaches will be happy to discuss options for your child.
