A teacher at Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School, Colin’s background in Physical Education, Welfare, Sport Psychology and Sports Science complement his football background. He also lectures at the National PEAK Physical Education Conference at the MCG as a leading practitioner in the ‘Game Sense’ teaching and coaching pedagogy.
Colin has coached the PEGS 1st XI to a record 10 AGSV Premierships over a 25-year coaching span including the winning the nationwide Bill Turner Cup, a tournament that started with 407 schools across the country. He’s also got years of experience in the NPL system and was Hume City’s inaugural Academy coach. |
Colin Cooper - Head of Football Development
Moreland City has created an exciting new role aimed at supporting player development and to also working closely with the coaching team. In a deliberate move to address the time lost through interrupted seasons the club and Colin have been working behind the scenes to come up with ways to complement the FFA National Football Curriculum. Well-being and time-management with school and social life is also something we see as a priority as we return to both.

Janosz Podgorkis - Junior Development Coach
As part of the Moreland City FC development program, the club is now accredited to run the Skills Acquisition Program (SAP) which focus on the Skill Acquisition Phase, the key building block in the Football Federation Australia (FFA) National Football Curriculum. The Skills Acquisition Phase is the most important phase of player development, especially around Ball Mastery. The club has been focused on Ball Mastery for a number of years, and now is extremely excited to compliment this with the SAP program.
